Alchemy- science, magic or art.

     What I like about alchemy is the flexibility of it.  It can fit into science, magic or art.  I think it's all three.  I see acupuncture in a similar way.  Acupuncture uses the meridians that are not part of the Western medicine world.  It doesn't fit under just one category.  There's also a sliver of ambiguity in it.  It's like leaving the door open for something magical.  I like leaving a piece of unknown in the equation.  Do we need to know everything?  Do we need to dissect and examine every little piece of everything, and name it!?

The TCM approach views cancer as an invader.  Depending on where the body is diseased, determines where the practitioner will work.  The meridians will be strengthened and supporting organs will be as well.  The body is seen as a whole and the pieces of the whole are taken into consideration in the healing process.  The emotional body is addressed as well in TCM.  For example, anger will present in the liver.  This system is looking at the whole body and it uses the whole body to heal itself.
